Alphabet Syntesis Machine is an interactive work online to create imaginary alphabet or nonexistent. Starting from a drawing of glyphs and setting a series of parameters that govern the automatic creation of an alphabet more or less absurd from this glyph. Once completed script can be downloaded in True Type format.

It is a tool for creating professional typesetting, but an experiment where it tested the boundaries between the familiar and chaos, language and gestures.

DoubleType is another project for a publisher of open source fonts. It is intended primarily but not exclusively, by Japanese typography.

I downloaded it for me with hope that was more user friendly than fontforge , perhaps if you will, for the moment the project is very recent and have not taken more than an alpha version pretty skinny (years away from the quality of fontforge), is perhaps too early to judge.

Platform: Windows, Linux. Requires Java installed on the machine.
