Image search and content with Creative Commons licenses
http://search.creativecommons.org/
The search filters for searches of major search engine results to show only content licensed under the Creative Commons.
Remember that Creative Commons licenses are formed from a combination of these aspects according to the permissions assigned to the author wants his work:
- Recognition (Attribution): In any exploitation of the work authorized by the license must acknowledge authorship.
- No Commercial (non commercial): The exploitation of the work is limited to non-commercial use.
- No Derivative Works (No Derivate Works): The authorization to exploit the work does not include the transformation to create a derivative work.
- Share Alike (Share Alike): The operation involves creating unauthorized derivative works as long as they keep the same license to be disclosed.
The license Attribution-Share Alike (by-sa), is equivalent to free software licenses, any use allowed while the authors recognize and share the work with the same license.
But it must take into account that not all of Creative Commons licenses are so permissive. If Cercami content to make derivative works or commercial use, the search engine should use to mark the boxes for "commercial purposes" and / or modify, adapt, or build upon, so that the filter also acts on the contents do not allow such actions.
We must emphasize that the search does not offer guarantees, and we always verify the license of an image on their website or by contacting the original author.
The Creative Commons search is also available as add-on for Mozilla Firefox: http://wiki.creativecommons.org/MozCC .

Internet Archive
Internet Archive is a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco (California, USA), who was born with the idea of archiving the files Web pages that disappear, to preserve the memory of the internet. It is impressive to see how many ancient sites that have been filed with the Wayback Machine.
In addition to archive sites also have software files, text, music, videos and movies that have become public domain or are published under a Creative Commons license, free distribution, viewing, downloading or use.
They also have a section where users can upload and publish your video files, audio, text ... Personally I decided to post videos to this option instead of doing it on youtube or vimeo for various reasons (despite the Tengu its web interface aesthetics rare commercial):
- when you embed a video link from a website does not appear any logo or advertising anything.
- allows the user to choose the license under which published his work under various conditions offered by Creative Commons. Much more respectful of copyright for example vimeo (on youtube I think it can be licensed with creative commons)
- the maximum that can weigh a video 8GB are, more than any other options.
