YafRay (Yet Another Free Raytracer) Raytracer is free under GNU LGPL, they used a scene description language in XML. Has recently been integrated 3D modeling program Blender, and is frequently used to render scenes created with Blender, but can also be used as independent Raytracer. The main developers are Alejandro Conty Estévez and Alfredo de Greef.
MAIN CARACTERISTÍSTIQUES
* Complete global illumination: YafRay can illuminate scenes for this system, using Montecarlo and Quasimontecarlo approaches.
* Skydome Lighting: Light originating from a mobile transmitter that causes soft shadows to the scene.
* HDRI Lighting: This type of lighting is based on the information contained in an HDR image. Can be used with both types of lighting described above.
* Caustics: YafRay can simulate the behavior of light-transmitting and reflective materials such as glass.
* Real DOF: I can reproduce this effect in the scene of an approach that would be real slow, producing the most distant objects blur and the next focus point.
* Reflections Borrosses: Certain objects cause a distortion in the reflection due to a rough surface, this effect can be simulated by the program.
